Hello and welcome to our very first article where we would like to introduce you to our simple new business directory ‘Couriers In UK‘.
We know business directories are nothing new. No matter what age you are, you probably know about the Yellow Pages, or Yell.com as it has become in recent years. Yell is a huge business directory. It encompasses all types of business through the UK. The problem with that is that it doesn’t focus on any one particular trade.
So that’s why we came up with the idea for ‘Couriers In…’
Learning How People Search For Couriers
We studied how people use Google and other search engines to find what they’re looking for.
With that in mind, we looked at how we could place a single courier company into each location around Britain to help put them in-front of more customers.
It’s not an easy thing to achieve, as with a lot of couriers having their own websites, there’s heavy competition for those positions.
That wasn’t going to stop us though. So here it is. Our answer is to create a streamlined, fast and easy to use website that has lots a separate page for everyone town or city.
A Directory of Only Local Businesses
Each courier registers for one page only. And that is their closest local town, city or county. That page is dedicated to their business – no competition.
That way the person searching for a courier knows that they have found a local company. They have fewer decisions to make. If the user is happy with the information they see, they contact the company using the details provided.
We think this is better than Yell as their system adds an extra step. By giving the user a long list of local businesses they need to be sorted through. If the user doesn’t browse, more enquiries go to the top advertiser. This makes it a case of ‘Biggest Budget Wins’.
With our system, it’s just a case of ‘first come, first served’.
Quality Checked for the Users Benefit
We make sure to check the advertisers out before we list their business. That way the user can be more secure in who they’re hiring. We look into how long they have been operating, if they are members of any trade organisations, or if they have any bad credit etc.
It’s not a 100% guarantee. We can’t control the advertisers in how they run their business. But it does help weed out the more unscrupulous providers.
Low Cost Advertising for Businesses
Most importantly, we’re aiming to keep the cost of advertising in the directory as low as possible. That’s because we’re couriers too and we know how many overheads our fellow delivery providers have. Cheaper advertising is less of a risk. It only takes one or two bookings to earn back your fee and make a return on your investment.
